The Shade Store is recalling 45,000 roman shades. This recall involves custom-made Roman shades that were made out of fabric and of woven wood. The shades do not have any permanent markings and were sold at five showroom locations and online at www.theshadestore.com from February 2006 through March 2011 for between $120 and $355 per shade.

Yesterday Lowe’s recalled 11 million roman shades and roll up shades. The reason for this recall is because the shades, as of December 3rd, no longer meet the safety standards the Industry created this past year. Lowe’s had their chance to be apart of the major recall back in December 2009, but for some reason did not want to participate.

Here are 2 recalls for shades that have injured and killed children.

These recalls are great, and we applaud the manufactures and retailers for recalling them.

Our hope is that ALL retailers and manufactures will recall their products that have the exact same design which have killed or injured other children.  All roman shades and roll up shades have the same exact design.  They all need to be pulled off the shelves!
